Iodophenyl ) - 4 - aminobutyric acid , a Radioiodinated Analogue of Baclofen
نویسنده
چکیده
Baclofen has been found to bind to receptors in the central nervous system that are specific for 7-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a well known inhibitory neurotransmitter. This paper describes the synthesis of a radioiodinated analog of baclofen as part of an effort to develop receptor probes useful in single photon emission computed tomography. Prel imi nary biodis tr ibut ion studies showed the radioiodinationed analog to be essentially stable to in vivo deiodination and have a distribution profile similar to that of baclof en.

Spinally mediated analgesic interaction between γ-aminobutyric acid B receptor agonist and glutamate receptor antagonists in rats
Background. Many mechanisms are involved in pain transmission in the spinal cord. Therefore, combination of drugs acting on different kinds of mechanisms might be useful for analgesia. We investigated the interaction betweenγ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)B receptor agonist, baclofen, and N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, AP-5, orα-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole-4-propionic acid ...
متن کاملIntervention of the Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid Type B Receptors of the Amygdala Central Nucleus on the Sensitivity of the Morphine-Induced Conditionally Preferred Location in Wistar Female Rats
Background: The amygdala is one of the nerve centers involved in drug reward. It is suggested that the central nucleus of the amygdala (CeA) is involved in morphine dependency. The CeA gamma-aminobutyric acid-ergic (GABAergic) system is a mediator of morphine rewarding effects. In this research, the effects of stimulation or inhibition of CeA GABA type B (GABAB) receptors on sensitization acqui...
متن کامل,Q-Phenyl-,Q-Alanine Prevents the Activation of Vagal Efferent Discharges Evoked by Baclofen and GABA in Rats
The effects of DL-fl-phenyl-,8-alanine (BPBA) on vagal efferent discharges elicited by y aminobutyric acid (GABA) and baclofen were investigated in rats. When given alone, BPBA (40 mg/kg, i.v.) caused no significant change in vagal nerve response and did not elicit any convulsions. Pretreatment with BPBA (40 mg/kg, i.v.) resulted in 70% and 80% reductions in the vagal efferent dis charges induc...

In the present study, the effect of GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid) receptor agonists and antagonists on morphine-induced antinociception was investigated in formalin test in rats. Intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of different doses of morphine (1, 3, 6 and 9 mg/kg) and intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) injection of different doses of muscimol (0.5, 1 and 2 g/rat) or baclofen (0.25, 0.5 and 1 g/rat) ...
متن کاملChronic hypertension enhances the postsynaptic effect of baclofen in the nucleus tractus solitarius.
Microinjection of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid B-subtype receptor agonist baclofen into the nucleus tractus solitarius increases arterial blood pressure and sympathetic nerve discharge. The baclofen-induced pressor response is enhanced in chronic hypertension. We hypothesized that a postsynaptic mechanism contributes to the enhanced responses to baclofen in hypertensi...
